In the early 1990's Dr. Anthony Povilitis and others were compelled to create an organization that would work
for nature protection at every social level possible. Life Net was born. Life Net has worked on huemul* (an Andean deer) conservation
in Chile at the local, regional and national levels, defining Grizzly Bear critical habitat in the San Juan mountains,
ESA species policy in the US, and more recently bird conservation in Ecuador. Life Net sponsors educational opportunities, works on policy change, and does research on wildlife populations and their conservation. The species change, as do locations, but the goal is always the same: to reduce the loss of wild nature on our one and only Earth, and to call attention to good and bad examples related to the conservation of biological diversity. * For more information about the huemul you can view a copy of the original website stored at Archive.org (some of the links and email addresses on the archived website are outdated) |
